Just the beginning...

Welcome to the first blog from LBC Weddings and Events and what better way to start than to introduce me…

Hi, I am Lauren. A wedding and events planner based in Hertfordshire with over 7 years’ experience. I started working in the industry when I was 16 at a beautiful Hertfordshire venue called Brocket Hall Golf and Country Club. After returning from 6 months travelling South East Asia and Australasia, I began working as an event manager for a small, family-run event agency, planning high-end Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, weddings and corporate events including a million-pound distillery launch. This is where I gained a wealth of experience and had the opportunity to work with some amazing people, planning beautiful and seamless events. My latest role was at the Institute of the Motor Industry in their events and marketing department planning annual dinners and conferences. This role led me to an interest in digital marketing and I had the opportunity to complete my digital marketing qualification. All of this experience has guided me to here.

A time to reflect…

During lockdown (like many others) I took a step back and evaluated where I was in life, how far I had come and where I wanted to be. And that was not working a 9-5 job anymore. So, I decided to make some changes!

When is the right time to go solo? Will I ever be ready? Am I too young? Do I need more experience? I spent months going over and over these questions in my head and I never had the answers but what I did know was I had a passion for events and weddings, that I can plan and execute an amazing seamless event and that one day I wanted my own company…

So I took the leap…

I spoke to my contacts in the industry, joined numerous wedding and event Facebook groups and enrolled myself in a one day ‘So you want to be a Wedding Planner’ course with Planning Redefined.

The more I involved myself in wedding and events the more the excitement grew. I knew that however hard the path was going to be it was all going to be worth it. I created a logo, designed and setup my website (with feedback from my friends and family), started Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest pages and began to network with suppliers, venues and other inspiring wedding and event planners. As the event industry has been hit hard by COVID, I will be taking the rest of the year to organise and style wedding and event shoots.

The future...

My lifetime goal is to do what I love - travel and organise magical events. I want to experience different cultures, visit new places and plan unforgettable weddings, parties and celebrations around the globe. I am excited to work hard, achieve each milestone and share my journey with you whether that's in the UK or beyond.

The one thing COVID has brought me is the final push to creating my future!
